SOCIALIST REALISM PROPAGANDA POSTERS
We have a large collection of DPRK film posters and large
size PROPAGANDA POSTERS, all handpainted. Many are PAINTED
direct on to purpose built concrete hoarding whilst others
are painted on paper or canvas and used either in the interior
of buildings, for People's Exhibitions (high quality art
work portraying revolutionary or practical themes) or on
the streets during national holidays and commemorative days.
A special section below is dedicated to posters related
to the DPRK-US tensions.
Very few posters are printed and these tend to be small
in size (A3) and displayed in shop windows. Since 2002 a
few posters are photographed real objects or computer generated
images printed onto plasticised material and backlit for
street usage. Posters used for People's Exhibitions will
be one off originals though for FILM POSTERS and street
posters the theme will be copied for use in various locations.
These works are not signed though in the case of People's
Exhibition art works the pieces are often signed on paper
on the reverse of the piece.
All posters below are HANDPAINTED on poster paper, and
measurements are in centimeters. Most come directly from
the art studios; some have been displayed on streets around
